Who would have thought that hanging a single light bulb would become such a decorating trend. For years, the light bulb has been ignored and disguised under all kinds of decorative lighting and hanging light fixtures. Manufacturers have gone to great lengths to design and create lighting that would appeal to consumers for both home use and industrial spaces. But somewhere, someone got the idea to just hang a single light bulb from the ceiling, no shade, no more hiding. Definitely an industrial look but done the right way, industrial light bulbs can make a real design statement in lighting a room. This vintage industrial table is still working.

Vintage Desk and Industrial Cage Light

Do you know where your secretary is?

Mine is right here. A Belgium Secretary circa 1890 shows off its vintage wood and hardware. This is one heavy desk with a great fold down top for writing and working. I think any secretary would be happy to work at this desk. There are plenty of little drawers for supplies and lots of room to spread out. But what I really like is the industrial cage light on top of this vintage desk. I can see this industrial light hanging over one side of the desk to complete the vintage look. Just plug in this cage light and you are good to go. But I’m not sure about my secretary, I prefer Administrative Assistant!
