Industrial factory carts used in the early 1900’s to transport furniture, fabric and supplies across the factory floor. Made of solid wood, cast iron wheels, metal bolts and plates, they have become an icon for design and function. Not to mention the natural aging of the metal and wood from actual use over time. i purchased essentially the identical cart (you have pictured from restoration hardware) for the lounge area of a wine bar i designed (a year ago), only mine came from Luckett’s in Virginia…
i see them everywhere and i paid just $170. I cannot believe the $900+ price tag, though. it’s worth looking at local antique and used furniture places for great pieces like that.
