Distressed Painted Wood Furniture

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

Click HERE to go to our on-line store at HudsonGoods.com.

I love painted distressed wood furniture.  The older the better, but when you can get new furniture that looks old, oh happy day!  Wood furniture that functions as new so that you can live with it every day in your home.  Forget the vintage and antique furniture, they cost too much and they never work right anyway!

Take a look at one of my favorite furniture wholesalers.  This furniture is meant for living!

And check out HudsonGoods.com for vintage home furnishings.

Mother of Pearl Dressers

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Click HERE to go to our on-line store at HudsonGoods.com.

Oysters anyone?  Wood dressers with inlaid mother of pearl, who would have thought?  Bold paint colors combined with iridescent inlay make these dressers hard to miss.  I thought they were pretty cool but too bad the prices aren’t.

Not exactly my vintage taste but check out the end of this post for more of that.  Enjoy the display of color and try to resist the urge for some succulent oysters!

Check out HudsonGoods.com for vintage home furnishings.

Apothecary Cabinets

Monday, July 13th, 2009

Click HERE to go to our on-line store at HudsonGoods.com.

Drawers gone mad!  Apothecary cabinets have been around for centuries and there are many reproductions out there.  But here are the originals!  Chinese doctors used these cabinets as early as the 1800’s to store their medicinal roots and herbs.  Each of the many drawers was then labeled accordingly.

Times have since changed and we now have our pill popping containers with lids that even an adult can’t sometimes open!  Enjoy the photos.

Chic? or just Shabby Chairs!

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Click HERE to visit our on-line store at HudsonGoods.com.

You be the judge.  These truly vintage chairs are for sale and are the ultimate in shabby chic.  They are showing up in some of the best home furnishing stores in New York City.  If these chairs are your style, you need the right space, the right home and very deep pockets.  No kidding, they may have been picked from the trash but they carry some serious price tags. Makes you wish you kept grandma’s old chairs.

I actually like the authenticity of the burlap linings and the natural wood, but these shabby chic chairs would be strictly for display in your home.

At HudsonGoods.com, we do vintage, but we like to sit on our wood chairs.

And click Cool Stuff, Hip Lighting, Furniture Frenzy, or Vintage Things for more interior home design ideas in this home decorating blog.
