A vintage boxing wall painting and pumpkins. Perfect together. Well, let’s just say it’s that time of year. Autumn, or more commonly called Fall, is a popular season among many people. Plenty of sunshine, cool breezes and plenty of pumpkins. In fact, I would say that pumpkins are probably the one single item that is most associated with this time of year. It could be because they only grow in the Fall but I think it’s probably the holidays, Thanksgiving and Halloween. We might think turkey or costume but there’s usually a pumpkin on every table and a pumpkin at every front door.

Consider this before before you decide to carve the pumpkin this year. The pumpkin is considered a fruit and is very nutritious. It is low in calories, fat and sodium. It’s a good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin B, potassium, protein and iron. Who knew. the pumpkin is a member of the gourd family right along with cucumbers, melons, cantaloupe and zucchini. As such, the pumpkin is used to make soups, breads and pies. Who doesn’t like a fresh baked pumpkin pie. Did you know that the largest pumpkin pie ever baked was in 2005 and it weighed 2,020 pounds. They must have used a lot of pumpkins to make that pie. Add some fresh whipped cream and I’m sold. Could I have a seconds please.
