A hot mess or an abstract water color painting. Well maybe a little of both. I’m not a connoisseur of art but I know when I like something. Or not. And I think this pair of water color paintings is growing on me. It’s all about the space. In the right space almost anything can look good. I’m definitely partial to blue and I like the contrast with splashes of orange. Particularly with the orange berries on the tree branches. Art is subjective so you never know when something will hit you. But when it does you’ll know it. Let’s see how quickly this abstract water color painting sells.
Abstract Water Color Painting
Abstract art doesn’t attempt to represent reality or any concrete subjects. In more formal terms, it uses a visual language of shape, form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from real visual references in the world. In layman’s terms, that means abstract art can be whatever you want it to be. It’s that simple. I’m sure this water color meant something to the artist who painted it. Maybe he was having a bad day. Or surprisingly, maybe he or she was having a good day. We’ll probably never know. What’s important is what it means to the observer. And it will probably mean something different to each person that sees it. A hot mess. I don’t think so. I think it works.
