American Flag Oil Painting

Hang an American flag oil painting for the 4th of July. This oil painting is perfect for celebrating July 4th in vintage style. It also works for Labor Day and Memorial Day. But it looks great on your wall any day of the year. Painted on salvaged metal makes this painting truly unique. Most oil paintings use a fabric canvas but reclaimed metal makes this flag a painting and a sculpture. And if you have some elephants they will look good with the American flag too.

The fourth of July in the United States, sometimes called Independence Day, is a federal holiday celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. Some would argue that the official day of independence would actually be July 2, 1776. During the American Revolution, the legal separation of our thirteen colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776. This is when Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence declaring that the United States was independent from the rule of Great Britain. After the vote, Congress turned to writing the Declaration of Independence explaining their decision. It was prepared by a committee of five with Thomas Jefferson as the lead author. Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration with final approval on July 4, 1776. So Americans came to celebrate their independence on the date of the document rather than the approval for independence on July 2. Either way, the holiday is celebrated every year with fireworks, parades, barbecues and of course the American flag. But if you want to celebrate our independence all year long you can hang this American flag oil painting on the porch or anywhere in your home. Happy fourth of July.
