This Billy Goat wall art has a story to tell. It’s the curse of the Billy Goat and I think you’ll like it. It’s quite a story but let’s check out this wall painting first. Painted by hand on reclaimed metal, this goat might look a little intimidating. But hang this Billy Goat in any room of your home and it will grow on you. It did for me.

The curse of the Billy Goat was placed on the Chicago Cubs back in 1945 by William Sianis, owner of the Billy Goat Tavern. The curse lasted 71 years from 1945 to 2016. The story of the curse goes like this. Sianis was a big Cubs fan and he would bring his favorite pet goat Murphy to all the Cubs games. He never missed a game. Unfortunately, Murphy had a very bad odor which bothered the other fans and Sianis was asked to leave the ballpark during game 4 of the 1945 World Series. Understandably angry, Sianis placed a curse on the Cubs that they would never win another world series. Surprisingly, there may be some truth to the curse because the Cubs did not win another World Series championship until 2016. Strangely enough, they won on the 46th anniversary of William Sianis’ death. The Cubs defeated the Cleveland Indians in game 7 after 10 innings to win the 2016 World Series, thus ending the 71 year curse. So maybe there is some truth to this curse but we still like this Billy Goat wall painting. Play ball.
