DIY Vintage Lighting Project

This DIY vintage lighting project might be easier than you think. Not only have these vintage spools of yarn been repurposed into lighting pendants. They have been reimagined into the red, white and blue American flag. How’s that for creativity. It’s one thing to turn an ordinary household item into a completely different object. Spools of yarn turned upside down into pendants lights hanging over your kitchen counter or work space. But to create a visual effect of the American flag with different color spools of yarn takes this design to the next level. I like it and award this DIY project a good ole American 50 stars.

DIY Vintage Lighting Project

This is one of my favorite DIY projects. Normally, I am not big on doing it yourself. Most often because it looks like you did it yourself. I’ve never been that handy. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. One it gets you out of doing a lot of work around the house. But it also costs a lot more money getting someone else to do it for you. Unfortunately, my home projects tend to look like I did not hire a professional. It doesn’t look even or there might be a rip here or there. An exposed wire or a loose screw. It isn’t always as easy as it looks. Not the case with this lighting project. Spray some old spools of yarn with fire retardant spray purchased at your local hardware store. Purchase a light kit from Home Depot or elsewhere. Feed the wire through the existing hole in the spool and plug it in. It’s that easy. Go red, white and blue.
