Modern or vintage. I think these glass sphere pendant lights can go in either interior design aesthetic. Use an incandescent white light bulb with these lights and they will fit right in with a contemporary space. They work with the basic principals of mid century modern design with simple form and functions. Or use a vintage Edison light bulb and these pendants will set the mood for a vintage industrial space. So it doesn’t matter what your style is because these glass sphere pendant lights will work.
Glass Sphere Pendant Lights
Inspired by a vintage glass demijohn, these pendants have been transformed from container to lights. A vintage demijohn was a rigid container used to transport liquids, often water or chemicals. But in brewing, a demijohn was a glass container used to ferment beverages such as wine, cider or beer. The opening at the top was fitted with a rubber stopper to prevent bacteria and oxygen from entering and spoiling the fermentation process. Once complete the wine and beer could be transported in the glass demijohn and sold for consumption to eager drinking enthusiasts. And just like the vintage demijohn these glass sphere pendant lights have a flat bottom as though they were going to rest on the floor or on a shelf. But equip these glass bottles with a light bulb and they are ready to suspend from the ceiling. Hang these pendants at home over the kitchen island or create a unique lighting display in the foyer with a cluster of pendants together. In a commercial space these pendants look great hanging over the bar counter or greeting guests in the lobby. Either way these pendants can go mid century modern or true vintage industrial.
