Iron and Wood Planter

If you’ve got the tree we have the iron and wood planter. Big tree, no problem. This iron and wood planter comes in three sizes with the largest standing at five foot three inches. That’s taller than a majority of women but it’s substantially heavier. Made with real cast iron and reclaimed wood, this over sized planter weighs over 1,100 pounds. That’s right once you decide where to place this iron and wood planter there’s no going back. You have to get it right the first time.

Iron and Wood Planter

This extra large planter was inspired by the original orange tree planters used at the Chateau de Versailles back in the 17th century. The Chateau was built by Louis XIV in 1682 in the little country village of Versailles. However, today it is a wealthy suburb of Paris and the Chateau is one of the main attractions for Parisians and tourists alike. If you know anything about the Palace of Versailles it is one big building so it’s no surprise they had big landscaping to match. Orange trees were in abundance and they were planted in over sized containers similar to these iron and wood planters. Made with a cast iron frame, feet and ball finials, the side panels are made from reclaimed azobe wood that was once used for brick maker pallets. It’s makes sense that just one of these planters would weigh over half a ton. Perfect for a hotel lobby or the smaller size planters can grace the front steps of your home. We may not live in the Chateau de Versailles but these planters can make us feel like we do. And who wouldn’t like to pick their own oranges.
