If burnt wood looks this good let these reclaimed wood planters burn. These planters are made with an iron frame and cast iron details that have a black powder coat finish to resist rusting. The reclaimed wood finish is uniquely textured with charred markings and distressed tar remnants to make this a one of a kind planter. Normally this wood would have been discarded as unusable but it’s been repurposed and transformed into beautiful wood planters that can be used both indoors and out.
Reclaimed Wood Planters
These reclaimed wood planters were inspired by the original orange tree planters used at the Chateau de Versailles back in the 17th century. The Chateau was built by Louis XIV in 1682 in the little country village of Versailles. However, today it is a wealthy suburb of Paris and the Chateau is a main attraction for Parisians and tourists alike. If you know anything about the Palace of Versailles it is one big building so it’s no surprise they needed a lot of landscaping to match. Orange trees were in abundance and they were planted in containers similar to these reclaimed wood planters. Made with a cast iron frame, feet and ball finials, the side panels are made from reclaimed pine that was salvaged from old buildings and barns. Perfect for hotel lobbies or proudly displayed on the front steps of your home, these planters can be used outside or in any room indoors. We may not live in the Chateau de Versailles but these planters can make us feel like we do. And who wouldn’t like to pick their own oranges.
