Sometimes you just have to put them up and fight it out like the men in these vintage boxing wall paintings. We try hard to act like civilized people. We think that a rational argument will persuade the opposition to our way of thinking. But when the opposition is your rebellious daughter or an annoying mother in law, common sense goes out the window. All that talking is emotionally draining and exhausting. It would be a lot easier to put on a pair of boxing gloves and enter the ring. I think it would release tension, feel a lot better and in the end it wouldn’t matter who won. You would be too tired to care.

Boxing is considered a martial art and combat sport where two people wearing protective gloves throw punches at each other for a designated period of time in a boxing ring. The origin of boxing as an organized sport dates backs to the ancient Greeks as an Olympic game in BC 688. It evolved from the 16th and 18th century prizefights in Great Britain to modern day boxing in the mid 19th century in the United States. Boxing is supervised by a referee during a series of three minute intervals called rounds. The winner is decided when one opponent is deemed incapable to continue the fight, disqualified for breaking a rule, throws in the towel or is pronounced the winner based on the judges’ decision. If both fighters receive equal scores the fight is considered a draw. If that sounds easy think again. It’s easier to just hang a vintage boxing oil painting in your home. Hang these paintings in the man cave and it will add vintage style to your space. It might also relieve some stress from the long, hard work week. That’s it. I’m throwing in the towel.
