Vintage Bulb Pendant

Sometimes it’s all about the bulb and that’s what this vintage bulb pendant does. Forget the fancy chandelier with big metal arms and six, eight or even twelve candles. We hear it often but sometimes less can be more. This vintage bulb pendant consists of three simple metal wands that are centrally connected and each suspends one vintage style Edison bulb. And if it weren’t for Thomas Edison this pendant may not stand out at all.

Vintage Bulb Pendant

Thomas Edison was a businessman and an American inventor. We know him best for inventing the electric light bulb but he also invented the phonograph and the motion picture camera. He held over 1,000 US patents in his name but he also held many patents around the world including England, Germany and France. His inventions have greatly influenced life around the globe but he probably never realized the extent to which the world would depend upon his invention of the electric light bulb. He also never realized how good three vintage light bulbs would look in a simple vintage bulb pendant like this one. LED bulbs last a long time and are energy efficient but somehow this pendant would not look the same. Would it provide plenty of light. Yes. Would the bulbs ever burn out. No. But this pendant light looks best with a vintage style light bulb. The warm glow of filaments add to the attraction and beauty of this light fixture. In fact, it’s the bulbs that you first notice. And unlike modern day incandescent bulbs, you can look right into the light without temporary loss of vision. In fact, you want to admire the inner workings of each filament bulb because that’s what this pendant light was made for. And you light up a room too. My thanks to Thomas Edison.
