Vintage Canvas and Leather Luggage

Carry on luggage.

Not exactly, but I would gladly carry this vintage luggage onto an airplane.

Made with canvas, leather trim and solid brass hardware, there are no wheels on this vintage luggage. Before the invention of wheels on luggage, we actually carried it onto the plane. So why is today’s luggage called carry on when it is actually wheeled on. There were also no name tags hanging from luggage handles. Instead, names or initials were embossed and proudly displayed on the front of each piece of luggage.

Vintage luggage can also be used for storage in the home. Stack your luggage on the floor and use it as an end table or pile it on a bookshelf for display. Either way, this luggage will add vintage charm and character to your room.

So next time you board a plane with luggage, make sure you carry it on.
