If you can’t say hello try waving a vintage hand glove mold. Saying hello is probably one of the easiest things we as human beings can do. A simple nod of the head, a quick smile or a casual wave of the hand. It doesn’t take much but somehow there are those people who just can’t make the effort. Little do they know that it can open a world of opportunities. The chance to make a new friend or someone who might lend a hand in the future. Because you never know when you might need some help. A flat tire, locked out of the house or misplaced those darn keys. If you are one of those people that never smiles or makes eye contact others are less likely to help when you really need it. But the person who always makes the attempt to smile and say hello in passing will do better in the end. We are more likely to go out of our way for that person and help with a pair of jumper cables or use a hanger to retrieve a pair of car keys. As for the others, sorry I have a doctors appointment or I’m late to pick up the kids. It’s an easy excuse to get out of lending a helping hand. It seems that flashing a friendly smile has gone by the way side just as doing good deeds for strangers. Science has proven that making a smile takes less facial muscles than making a frown so it’s definitely easier. But somehow most people refrain from making the effort.
