Vintage Icebox Cabinet

The Iceman Cometh but he didn’t leave us any ice in our vintage icebox.

Not exactly what Eugene O’Neill was going for when he wrote The Iceman Cometh in 1939 or when it debuted on Broadway in 1946. But we’ll save that icy story for another day. Made from solid metal and trimmed in hard wood with chrome hardware, this icebox cabinet is a blast from the past. The iceman delivered large blocks of ice to your home and it was kept cold in a vintage icebox cabinet just like this one. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for the ice to melt so the iceman was a frequent and welcomed guest. Today, an icebox cabinet is the perfect solution for a storage or display cabinet. Use this icebox to store china in the dining room or pots and pans in the kitchen. And the top of this cabinet is great for displaying your favorite vintage find. Even if it happens to be spools of red yarn that have been transformed into pendant lighting. Either way, this icebox will add vintage charm to your space.

So glad we have automatic icemakers.
