Iron and glass, perfect together.
What better way to protect a fragile glass mirror than a heavy industrial iron frame. Now just a few facts about iron.
Iron is a chemical element with the symbol Fe, ferrum in Latin, and the atomic number 26. It is by mass the most common element on Earth forming much of the outer and inner core making iron the fourth most common element in the Earth’s crust. Iron has been used since ancient times in the making of products and it’s still in use today, evident in this vintage industrial wall mirror.
You wouldn’t expect iron to be used to create the soft arched lines of this wall mirror. But add industrial strength iron to mirrored glass and it works. The iron on this mirror makes it heavy so if not professionally hung this large mirror should sit firmly on the ground leaning against the nearest wall. In fact, take two or three of these mirrors and lean them on any wall in the home or commercial space. Mirrors create great reflection but more than one mirror will double the size of a room without adding expensive square footage. So next time you’re sitting in chemistry class, think Fe and shop for a vintage industrial iron mirror.
