In 1889, The Exposition of Universelle, better know as The World’s Fair, was held in Paris, France and one of the main attractions was the Eiffel Tower. In fact, the arch at the base of the tower served as the main entrance to the world famous event. The Eiffel Tower had just been completed at and it was the first time visitors were able to go up inside the tower, although only to the second level was permitted.

But if you were busy that day, you can travel back in time with this vintage industrial painting of The World’s Fair in 1889. Made from old reclaimed roof tins that have been welded together as a canvas, the Eiffel Tower and surrounding fair has been painstakingly painted by hand in oil.
