What is vintage industrial lighting?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

Inspired by vintage lights from the early 1900’s, these industrial pendants speak for themselves. Made from spun aluminum and adorned with a solid brass crown, these lights would make their ancestors proud.

Vintage industrial lighting was first introduced in factories during the Industrial Revolution. Factory spaces were large and therefore, needed big lights to provide plenty of light for hard workers. So domed glass shades like the ones on these pendants were popular to shed light across the factory floor. These lights were also built industrial strong to survive the rigors of everyday factory life, which often went into the dark of night. They were made of solid metal or iron to protect the bulb from falling debris or occasional bumps from tall ladders or moving freight.

But now these vintage pendants are ready to work just as hard in your home. Hang these lights over the kitchen island or line them up over the bar counter. Any way you decide to use these lights, they will add vintage industrial style to your space.

Work’s over, lights out!
