If you like vintage style then you will love this vintage vogue wall painting. A black car coat with a fur collar, red cap and driving gloves. This was the cover of Vogue magazine back in 1929. Although, this was the year of the Great Depression, sales for this magazine flew off the newsstand shelves. I will admit that I would now prefer a faux fur collar but this style says success. The car is not that bad either. Since we can’t go back in time this vintage painting will do the trick.
Vintage Vogue Wall Painting
Vogue magazine began as a weekly newspaper and was first published in New York City back in 1892. It later became a monthly fashion and lifestyle magazine covering beauty, culture, living and of course, runway. It was started by an American businessman named Arthur Turnure. the first issue was published on December 17, 1892 and cost only 10 cents. Those were the good old days. The magazine targeted the New York upper class. It covered their living habits including their leisure activities, social gatherings, the places they frequented and the clothes they wore.We were supposed to want to look and act like them.
It wasn’t until 1988 that Anna Wintour took over as editor-in-chief. She was tasked with revitalizing the Vogue brand by making it younger and more approachable to a wider audience. I’m not sure that Vogue fashion is all that more approachable or affordable. But we sure do know Anna Wintour. The Devil Wears Prada. Need I say more?
