Vintage wood school chairs on the wall. That’s right, on the wall. And why not. I think it looks cool. I’m not recommending this for your dining room but it could make for more room in a tight space. When entertaining just take the chairs down from the wall. And back up when done. But I could see this type of display in a restaurant, hotel lobby or other commercial spaces. These school chairs did make me think about the interior design of our school systems.
Vintage Wood School Chairs
Why is it that our learning centers are the most boring when it comes to architecture and interior design. Schools are where the young are brought to be inspired and educated. To go where no man has gone before. Yet most schools are designed to be blank and sterile. Not exactly a design aesthetic that encourages the mind to be creative and think outside the box. I remember cinder block walls both in the classroom and hallways. Add a chalkboard, vintage wood school chairs, desks, metal lockers and fluorescent lighting. More than I care to remember and not a space for inspiration and the imagination. Exactly the opposite. No wonder it’s a chore for kids to attend. Look at what they are greeted with every morning and the remainder of each day. My recommendation. Make schools and classrooms more appealing. More artwork, cool lighting and comfortable seating. So much has changed in the last fifty years. Technology, cars, homes, clothing, entertainment, the list goes on. Why not change the architecture and surroundings in our schools. I think we really need Interior Design 101.
